Oh what a day! I have been a little rough around the edges lately due to just crappy life stuff. Things have been slightly stressful this week, not sure why. The entire world has felt unbalanced to me. Like I'm on a rocking boat just trying to keep my footing. I needed today more than anybody would ever know.
The wee one and I set out on a an adventure. I had heard about this yummy ice cream shop called Sweet Scoops in Sonoma CA. I have been wanting to visit this spot for a couple of months now. Well hubby had to work and I planned a day out. Little did I know that the quick trip to the ice cream shop would turn into such a full day of exploring.
For today, day 94 I am thankful for the love, patience and beauty that found it's way into my heart. Who knew all it would take was a trip to an ice cream shop.
Look mom it's so little! My tiny ice cream. We cracked up over this!
Then we ventured over to Mission San Francisco Solano. I had no idea that there was a mission in the center of Sonoma. Actually there is a ton of history in this small area.
In this spot the wee one sat and talked about the native american tribes who built, worked and died here. She made up stories about the women and children cooking in the outside ovens and how sad it is that they are buried under the street now. She understood all of the history of this spot. We read every sign and walked every inch of this mission.
After we were home and settled in for the night we watched a movie "The Little Prince". It was a very sad story about life, death and love. A quote stuck out to me that closed the night perfectly.
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." Antoine de Saint-Exupery - The Little Prince
